In 2016, Sebra Interior acquired the rights to the Juno bed, which was originally designed by Viggo Einfeldt in 1942-43, and relaunched this classic, timeless and beautiful bed under the name Sebra Bed. The design of this bed celebrated its 75th birthday in 2017.
The bed was originally known as "the bed that grows with the child" - a slogan that is absolutely true.
Because it is a functional bed that can be pulled out. This means that the bed can be used during several stages of the child's life, up to the junior size (155 cm). This allows the bed to be used for a longer period of time, to the benefit of the child, the family and the environment. The Juno bed is one of the first - if not the first - beds where safety was a top priority. The safety element is part of this bed's DNA. Sebra Interior has adapted the bed and its functionality to modern safety standards compared to the original design. On the one hand to meet today's baby bed standards and on the other hand to meet today's parents' needs.
Among other things, the floor of the bed can be raised to make it easier to lift the baby out of bed or put him in bed during the first few months. Thanks to the raised bed base, the baby can be lifted out of bed more easily and with a safer grip, because parents can better support the baby's back of the head and neck when they want the baby to sleep because the distance to the bed base is not so great. - This is better for both the child's safety and the parents' back. If there are signs that the child is beginning to sit or crawl, the floor of the bed is lowered.
The unmistakable and handcrafted sides and ends of the grids are designed to provide the child with safety during the first year of life and to prevent the child from rolling out of bed when it begins to move more or stand upright. The bed's grids are shaped at the bottom to create an incline that prevents the child from holding the foot to climb/fall over the edge of the bed. The assembly of the grille sides, which can be removed as soon as the child can get out of bed itself, has become more user-friendly compared to the original design.
The Sebra Bed, Baby & Jr. is treated with an antibacterial, environmentally friendly and non-toxic paint / oil that ensures a clean indoor climate and protects the child's health. Microbiological nanosilver, mainly used in the health sector, decomposes microorganisms and prevents them from growing. This also reduces the spread of germs. The wood paint/oil has been independently tested according to the restrictive JIS Z 2801 standards for E. coli bacteria, among others. The colour/oil was tested and approved in accordance with the REACH regulation. Sebra Bett, Baby & Jr. meets the safety requirements of DS/EN 716-1 + A1:2013.
The piece of furniture is supplied in parts and can be easily assembled using the assembly instructions, which should be kept for future use.
The Sebra Bed, Baby & Jr. is designed for children from birth up to a size of 155 cm.
The Sebra Bed, Baby & Jr. matches the other furniture in the Sebra furniture family, which is characterised by soft, rounded corners and a timeless, classic Scandinavian look.
