Richard Steiff invented the teddy bear in 1902. Year after year he continued to develop the design until he created the "perfect" teddy bear in 1905. Dressed in grey, with a soft, friendly face and innovative attachments, a method so successful that it is still used today. The original gray teddy bear from 1905 lives in the Steiff Museum. Richard's perfected teddy bear is delighted to join the Teddies for Tomorrow range as part of a new series of iconic characters made from alternative materials. He bears the 1897 company logo in the form of his neck mark.
